At Nemo wetsuits we use four types of top quality neoprene in our line of wetsuits. Please read the information below carefully to determine which material is most suitable for you. Keep in mind your comfort preferences and think about how often you dive, where you dive and the conditions you dive in when choosing the material which is right for you.

1. Standard W8 Neoprene *New to Nemo

W8 is the most commonly used neoprene and is more pliable and softer than other neoprene material. It has good elasticity for surfing and diving to a depth of 30 meters. Highly recommended for leisure divers. W8 is available in 12 Colors and a thickness of 3mm and 5mm! Please see the color chart.

2. Standard W7 Neoprene

W7 is a stronger and harder version of the W8 material. It is certified to a depth of 50 meters and is significantly more durable against compression. Highly recommended for use in dive center rental wetsuits for its improved durability! W7 is available in 12 Colors and a thickness of 3mm and 5mm! Please see the color chart.

3. Most Durable F04 Neoprene

F04 is the most durable and strongest neoprene on the market, it is certified to a depth of 70 meters making it the choice against compression. Recommended for professional divers who are in the water all the time! F04 is available as a 5mm neoprene with a 1.5mm PP-2 Thermo Plush insulation lining which brings it to 6.5mm. 4. Newest 3D Neoprene

3D has excellent elasticity and flexibility making it suitable for diving, spear fishing or water sports up to a depth of 30 meters. This is the softest neoprene available, top of the line! 3D is available in 4mm with black nylon lamination and a 1.5mm PP-2 Thermo Plush insulation lining for 5.5mm of total thickness OR in 5mm neoprene with black nylon lamination and NST Titanium smooth skin application. Physical Properties of Chloroprene Rubber (CR) Sponge

Features: Soft, waterproof, good hermetic seals, adhesion force, heat preservation and high strength; resistance to seawater, chemicals and fire. Laminated CR sponge products are suitable for diving, surfing and water-sport Suits.

Laminates & Applications:

• Standard four-way stretch nylon commonly used in wetsuits

• PP-2 Thermo Plush Insulation fabric is a blend of low heat conductive Polypropylene (PP) and high elastic fibers. It is soft, has high stretch-ability and low water absorption. The Polypropylene loops hold in enough air to decrease temperature loss. Due to its heat retaining properties, PP-2 is a superior insulation to nylon.

• NST Titanium for Outerwear and Lining
The NST has a smooth/sleek surface, with low surface friction and reduced water resistance. It is smooth to the touch. Used in the outerwear and lining of wetsuits, triathlon suits, and aerobic/fitness apparel. NST contains titanium to increase its heat retaining properties.

• Smooth Skin Application
This waterproof hermetic seal is used under Nemo wetsuit zippers.

• Orca Smooth Skin Application
Used in the collar, wrist and ankle seals, this specially treated rubber sponge has excellent chlorine resistance and weather durability. Better water repellents reduce adhesion and resistance to water.

• Velcro Cloth Laminate
A durable loop surface that has been designed with high tear strength properties. It can be repeatedly attached / reattached to a hooked fabric surface.
